Welcome to Epping Ongar Railway Volunteer Society's website. For the latest news on what is happening please visit the News and Departments Diary pages. Both these pages have RSS feeds for you to automatically receive the latest news direct to your computer.

We are sorry, but the railway is closed at the moment due to major engineering and remodelling works in order to be able to host steam engines in the future. We will be reopening in 2009. Please visit the Departments Diary and News pages for the latest on our progress towards reopening.

The Epping Ongar Railway runs through 6 miles of beautiful Essex countryside. We are mainly surrounded by fields and forest. Rabbits, pheasant and deer are often seen from our trains.

We are very easy to get to, being just off the M25 and M11. We can also be reached by London Underground Central Line to Epping where a vintage bus (Special Event Days only) is often available to convey you to our line (our trains currently stop 1 mile short of Epping). See our Find Us page for more details.

All opinions and statements on our web site are that of the volunteers.
