EOR Retail Shop
Don't forget to visit our Gift Shop at Ongar Station!
No visit to the railway is complete without visiting our Gift Shop at Ongar. Our friendly volunteer team will be pleased to welcome and assist you!
We have a wide selection of items available, all of which we have been careful to ensure that we offer quality gifts which appeal to the wider public with items suitable for ALL interests, ages and budgets, as well the more typical railway-themed items.
Forefront in our minds is the need to support local businesses and the economy. We therefore source, wherever practicable, from local suppliers including from Ongar itself! You will find local products including crisps from locally grown potatoes and locally produced ice cream, which is truly delicious - our Arthur just can't keep his hands off 'em...
Cold drinks, ice cream, chocolates and snacks are always available, providing the traveller with refreshment when they reach the "end of the line".
We have exclusive gifts and mementoes to suit all ages and tastes, including pens, badges, fridge magnets, bookmarks, EOR shed plate cups, key-rings, notebooks, rock, toys and much more... indeed you can even pick up a OO gauge model of GWR No 4953 "Pitchford Hall", following your ride (possibly behind the real life example!).
We also have a wide range of books and prints, including railway and bus themed books both covering the history of this area and further afield, as well as covering the history of the London Underground.
You can pick up a copy of the EOR Official Guide Book, a booklet of walks in the local area produced in conjunction with local societies and the official EOR DVD which looks behind the scenes at the restoration and operation of Essex's longest heritage railway.
A small selection of items from the shop are also available from the Anglia cafe at North Weald station, alongside their wide range of refreshments.
Don't forget we also offer a range of driver experience courses throughout the year, giving you or a loved one the chance to take to the footplate or cab of one of our mainline steam or diesel engines, tackle the gradients and handle the train under our experienced tutors.
We are currently exploring various options and appealing for weekday volunteers to help us offer an e-shop. Please get in touch if you can help. In the mean time, there are sponsorship opportunities available, and why not consider a gift of membership?
