Tutored Tastings

Des de Moor New this year! We are pleased to join forces with acclaimed beer writer, beer educator, accredited sommelier and author of CAMRA's Guide to London's Best Beer Pubs and Bars, Des de Moor, to offer a tutored beer tasting on board the train.

A tutored beer tasting in the company of an expert is a great way of enhancing your appreciation of beer, discovering more about the astonishing range of beer styles, flavours and aromas; how brewers conjure such diversity from simple ingredients and how to match beer with food. Each participant will get to sample and learn about six different beers whilst travelling through the glorious Essex countryside.

Tutored tastings are available at certain times on Friday 28th July - check availability and book tickets using the link below. Although the tastings take place at specific times, prices for the tutored tasting include an all day rover ticket, giving unlimited travel on the trains and connecting buses throughout the day, and, of course, entry to the beer festival.

Beer and Cider

Over 70 beers are expected! The provisional list of beers can be downloaded here. Updated 14 July - more beers added!!

Of course we haven't forgotten the cider list! That can be downloaded here.

Also new this year - take away beers!
Hoppily
This year we have partnered with Hoppily, a recently launched craft beer subscription club that curates 8 great beers from Essex and London for £25 per month including delivery. With their North Weald stockroom based around the corner from the railway, they are are passionate about championing local beer and supporting the local community.

Especially for our festival, they have curated a selection of special gift packs for sale at the event. These will showcase beers by breweries whose beers can be found on draught at this year’s festival so you can continue to enjoy the festival after you have gone home! You'll be able to find the bright yellow Hoppily stall at North Weald, next to our shop and opposite the main beer marquee.
