For EORVS Members and those who would like to join us

By becoming a member of the Epping Ongar Railway Volunteer Society, your subscription helps to promote, support and enable volunteering on the Epping Ongar Railway. Your annual subscription will go towards running the trains between Ongar, North Weald & Epping Forest as well as helping to achieve our long term goal of reaching Epping Station and so re-instating the missing link in our local transport network.

All members receive a copy of our quarterly magazine “Mixed Traffic” which contains all the latest information about what is happening on the Epping Ongar Railway.

Upon production of your membership card, members will be able to purchase an Adult ticket for the discounted price of £7 ( this is only available on normal operating days – not special events ). Members also receive a 10% discount on all items purchased in the Anglia Buffet at North Weald and the Buffet Stop at Ongar.

Whilst you do not have to become a “working volunteer”, we welcome anyone that would like to do so. Please do not feel that you have to have a specific skill as we are always happy to teach you. The opportunities are varied and range from working on non-operating days; maintaining all aspects of the railway; to being at the ‘front end’ on operating days by working in the shops, cafes, ticket offices etc. There are even extra “perks” for working volunteers in that you will be allocated free travel tickets relative to the number of days you spend at the railway during the course of one year.

The current annual membership fees are :-

Adult £20

Joint (2 adults living at the same address) £33

Family (2 adults and up to 2 children) £36

Junior (Age over 12 years and under 18 inc. students) £12

Click here to complete the application form (PDF) and then print it out and send it to Membership Secretary, EORVS, Ongar Station, Station Approach, Ongar, Essex.

Whilst our preferred method of payment is by Standing Order or BACS, we will, of course, accept cheques which should be payable to EORVS.

(Whilst cash is acceptable, we would not recommend that it is sent through the post, in the interests of safety and security.)

If you require any further information please do not hesitate to email our Membership Secretary at
